As you are all aware by now, Ardiente is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. It’s an amazing mix of Asian-Latin fusion cuisine which is made to perfection. We stopped in a few weeks ago for an early dinner and had an amazing meal.
You know the staff know you really well when the bartender knows what cocktail you want to start off with! The Pisco Sour at Ardiente is simply amazing. They are so delicious, we could drink them all night. It’s become one of our favorite cocktails.
For an appetizer, we started out with the kimchi. It’s so good! It is a wonderful blend of sweet and spice. Next up, we ordered the chilled octopus salad which consisted of fennel, hearts of palm, red onion and cilantro. It was delicious. The balance of the octopus with the hearts of palm and the heat of the red onion and cilantro was perfect.
For our entree, we split the skirt steak bibimbap. This was absolutely delicious. It was made with house chimichurri, preserved orange kimchi, scallion and a fried egg. Our server mixed it all together and it was wonderful. The level of flavors and seasoning was perfect. We also got a side of their volcano chicken which was amazing. It was served with butter lettuce that you used as a wrap. It was so light, flavorful and spicy all at once. I can safely say you can order anything here and it will be delicious!
For desert, we kept it liquid. I ordered an espresso martini and Eric ordered the cafe Sazerac. Both drinks were simply stunning. The martini was so flavorful that Eric said he could smell the espresso just sitting next to me. It was wonderful! It wasn’t overly sweet but had the right balance of vodka and espresso. Eric said the cafe Sazerac could be his new favorite cocktail, along with the Pisco Sour. It was so good! It’s made with Bulleit Rye, house coffee syrup, Aztec chocolate bitters, flamed orange oil and orange zest. It really was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted. And wait until you see when they flame the orange oil. Eric got the perfect photo!
Ardiente is simply one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia, in my humble opinion. The decor is simply stunning and beautiful. The owners and staff are super friendly and attentive. The chef is a wizard in the kitchen and it shows in every dish you order. I’ve said it before but please make sure you give them a try. You will not be disappointed!
