If you follow my blog, you know how much we enjoy going to Annapolis and St. Michaels Maryland. But there is yet another spot in that wonderful state that I was recently introduced too. Eric told me of a wonderful place in Rock Hall where the food was fantastic and the scenery was breathtaking. Welcome to Waterman’s Crab House. It was everything he said it was.
Rock Hall is located the eastern shore of Maryland, the quiet side of the Chesapeake. It’s a big boating town but maintains it’s small town charm. Waterman’s Crab House is situated right on the water. It is picture perfect! They’ve been around for 40 years so you know they are doing it right. You can dine inside or out but I highly recommend you eat outside. The views are to die for.
It’s not a fancy place and that’s perfectly fine. It’s everything I would imagine when dining on the water on the eastern shore. Their outdoor deck is really big and no matter where you sit, you have a great view the adjoining marina, boats and the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge off in the distance. The views are really mesmerizing. The staff at Waterman’s are second to none. The moment you walk in, they make you feel right at home. During the summer, they have live music on their deck as well. And if you own a boat, you can sail right up to their docks and come ashore for a fantastic meal.
We decided to start our meal off with their seared sesame ahi tuna, oysters on the half shell and their famous crab cakes. It was was delicious! The seared ahi tuna came with a seaweed salad and wasabi sauce and was perfectly seared. It melted in your mouth! The oysters were perfect and the crab cakes were loaded with crab and very little filler. It was a perfect crab cake! For dessert, we split the homemade cheesecake. It is made from scratch and has been a part of Waterman’s since the beginning. It was probably the best cheesecake we’ve ever had and the perfect ending to our wonderful meal.
It was my first time here and it certainly won’t be my last. Next time we come here, I’d like to spend more time in the quaint town of Rock Hall and we’re definitely going back to Waterman’s Crab House. The service, food and scenery were all spectacular. Take a drive to the eastern shore and be sure to go to Waterman’s. It’s so worth it!
